24 Heures Moto 2012 : 24 Good reasons to come !

The start of the 24 Heures Moto is next week. Here are 24 good reasons to attend the 35th édition of the greatest motorcyle endurance race on the calendar.

1. To attend an event that is even more intense. For the first time in 35 editions, the Le Mans 24 Hours will be the final round of the FIM World Endurance Championship, where the outcome is still undetermined.

2. To support their favourites. Six teams can still claim the world title that will be awarded at the end of the event. With 40 points available on the top step of the podium, Le Mans is the decisive event.

3. To see the grid of 55 machines that will start with the desire to win the most prestigious endurance race in the world.

4. To live a moment in history: Da Costa, Leblanc and Four aboard the No.11 Kawasaki attempt the hat trick after their victories in 2010 and 2011. The Japanese manufacturer could permanently retain the trophy.

5. To enjoy the same atmosphere as the Olympics. Renaud Lavillenie, 2012 Olympic Champion in the pole vault will start with local rider Louis Rossi, winner of the Grand Prix de France Moto 2012 in the Moto3 class.

6. To see if BMW finally write his name in the history of an event that lack of the giant German.

7. To attend the final round of the FIM World Sidecar Championship.

8. To see bikes of nine different manufacturers on the starting grid of the Le Mans 24 Hours, one of the most diverse in motorcycle racing.

9. To feel the rhythm of an evening of free concerts with the D-A-D, Shaggy Dogs and The Elderberries from 20:15 near the Dunlop bridge, on Saturday 8th Sept.

10. To be surrounded by 82,000 motorcycle fans. Show your passion for the Le Mans 24 Hours. In 2011 there were 82,200 spectators.

11. To see new collections of clothing and products launched specially for the 2012 race, starting with the official 2012 T-shirt.

12. And after point 11 ... to visit the ACO shop Open all week, the ACO shop offers 190 square metres dedicated to the Le Mans 24 Hours official products, located inside the Automobile Museum de la Sarthe. Not to mention the other seven retail spaces around the village.

13. To meet with fans in the festive atmosphere that surrounds the circuit and reception areas.

14. To follow the race from the ACO Privilege Club: the best place to be in the heart of the race.

15. To be informed at all times. Two giant screens will be on the pit straight and don't forget your portable FM radio to hear commentary wherever you are around the track and in the reception areas on 91.5 FM (in French).

16. To watch the race from the Ferris wheel. For thrilsl, the carnival is a must with the big wheel that offers an exceptional view of the race ... 40 metres in height.

17. To attend a breathtaking show on Saturday night on the Maison Blanche circuit, with a freestyle show and stunts, from 19:00.

18. To extend your holiday period by a weekend at Le Mans with sport and festivity.

19. To become an ambassador of motorcycling, adhering and complying with the Spectators Charter.

20. To discover the bikes of tomorrow with a round of FIM e.power Championship.

21. To make a gesture towards the environment through EcoCup.

22. For the pleasure of riding on the highway free: those entering Le Mans will be free for bikers, from Friday 7th September to 10:00 to Monday September 10th at 10:00

23. To marvel at the beautiful Italians. It is not just Japanese and Germans who have machines at the start of this race: an MV Agusta, Ducati and Aprilia too.

24. Just to be able to say "I was there" ...

Circuit : Bugatti (4,185 km) at Le Mans.

Ticket price - general enclosure : 61 €.

ACO Members : 48 €.

Free for children under 16 (born after 9th Sept 1996)

Scrutineering : Wed 5th and Thurs 6th Sept 2012.

Free practice and qualifying : Thursday 6th and Friday 7th Sept 2012.

Start of the 35th 24 Heures Moto : Saturday 8th September 2012 at 15:00.
